Communication

Proprietary communicating: EMS-BUS (Bosch EMS / EMS2). 2-wire bus to the heat source. OpenTherm / iRT / On-Off heat sources require the separate Bosch EasyControl Adapter (not 24V conventional North American wiring).

Communicating Compatibility

Bosch, Worcester Bosch, Nefit, and Buderus boilers natively via EMS-BUS. Via EasyControl Adapter: third-party heat sources using OpenTherm, iRT, or On-Off control.

C-Wire

Power-stealing / bus-powered — 2-wire installation over the EMS-BUS (14.3-16V on the bus), no separate C-wire; rechargeable-battery-backed. Not a US-style 24V R/C system.

Voice Assistants

Alexa, Google (Google Home/Assistant). No Apple HomeKit.

Zoning

native zoning via wireless Bosch smart radiator valves (up to ~19-20 valves/rooms in the starter-kit/multizone configuration); no external zoning panel
