About Full Stack HVAC
Full Stack HVAC is the comparison and stack-building platform for residential HVAC contractors who value data, best practices, and ethical work. We evaluate 2,900+ products across seven categories on a published six-dimension methodology, and we maintain the stack builder, starter stacks, and community blueprints that turn product research into a deployable configuration.
Why we exist
The residential HVAC software market is crowded and confusing. Most review sites are pay-to-play: vendors pay for premium placements, sponsored reviews, and inflated ratings. Independent contractors are also competing for the same market against private-equity-backed roll-ups that have already standardized their stacks. We built Full Stack HVAC to be the resource we wished existed: transparent, data-driven comparisons that prioritize what actually matters to working HVAC professionals.
Who we are
Ben Reed, Principal at Teal Maker Consulting and founder of Full Stack HVAC. Ben spent four years at HAVEN IAQ leading product on a residential indoor-air-quality platform. He writes the technical and business content for HVAC Know It All, contributes to measureQuick, and consults with Energy Vanguard. He has presented at the HVACR Training Symposium on data infrastructure in residential HVAC.
Ben is not a licensed HVAC technician. The platform's recommendations are informed by the working circle of named technical authorities Ben collaborates with: Jim Bergmann (measureQuick), Gary McCreadie (HVAC Know It All), Allison Bailes (Energy Vanguard), Joe Medosch, and others.
