Thermostat Capabilities

Communication

Hardwired controller; wires directly to the Daikin indoor unit (powered from the indoor unit over the control wiring). Up to 16 indoor units per Madoka group; max 2 Madoka per unit/group.

Communicating Compatibility

Daikin proprietary wired remote-controller bus to Daikin VRV / SkyAir / RA single- and multi-zone indoor units. Replacement for legacy BRC1E/BRC2A71-class controllers. Not an open communicating-thermostat protocol.

C-Wire

N/A — derives power from the indoor unit over the control/communication wiring (P1/P2-style), not a conventional 24V C-wire thermostat.

Zoning

Group control: one Madoka can command up to 16 indoor units simultaneously as a remote-controller group.

BMS / BACnet

Not a native BACnet device; BMS/BACnet integration is handled upstream via Daikin interface gateways (e.g., DMS/iTM/BACnet adapters) at the system level, not by this controller itself.

Documentation hosted on daikincomfort.com (North America). Sold through Daikin distribution and HVAC wholesalers (SupplyHouse, AC Wholesalers, ecomfort, Rogers Supply, etc.).

Touch-button interface with three display modes (Text, Icon, Scale); soft blue glow in operation, red blink on error; power-saving dimming; setpoint range default 16-32°C with 0.5°C step; advanced/installer settings via Bluetooth Madoka Quick Set app. Installer and user reference guides published.
